From time to time you will see various suppliers reviewed as well as equipment and various other woodworking paraphernalia.  Some good, some not so good.  Regardless, I expect the same service and quality from my suppliers as my clients should expect from me.  With that in mind, below is my latest experience with Spray Gun World, an online spray gun equipment and accessories supplier.

About a month ago I was in the market for a 2.2mm tip set for my Asturo ECO1 conversion gun. Having purchased this gun from them in the past and hoping I was in for a better experience I decided to, once again, go with the low bidder.  (<on=”smack upside the head”>off)  The spray gun purchase came with mixed emotions.  The price was unbeatable but the service was less than desirable.  Hoping this wasn’t the standard I tried a second time.

I placed my order on the internet and within a couple hours I received an order confirmation by email.  The next day I received an email stating the order was being processed.  Shortly thereafter, maybe a couple of hours, I received another email stating that they had made an error and would need to charge me shipping.  I guess this wasn’t a part of the deal so I agreed, no sweat, and authorized the $8.

One week, two weeks then pushing 3 weeks and still no tip set???  Feeling the blood starting to boil I placed multiple calls and left multiple voice mails over the next day (it seems they are only open 4 hours a day?)  and still no response!  Finally, I get a real person on the phone only to spend a total of probably 15 mins on hold in order to get a tracking number only to find out it will be here the next day.  Why was this so hard?  Are they working out of someone’s apartment?  Three days later I receive an email stating that they have no information on my order???

The bottom line is I received what I ordered in good condition and paid an unbeatable price.  However, the severe lack of customer service won’t bring me back in fact it’s lead me to writing this review.  If you are in it for the price then sure Spray Gun World is your place but I hate to think what will happen if I actually had a problem!  With that in mind they won’t get my business again!

  1. I placed a recent order with them as well and so far my experience
    is poor.
I placed my order and immediately recieved a confirmation email that stated my order would ship shortly.
Two days later I send an email asking for the status of my order and recieve my first excuse.
Day seven I send another email and get one back with another excuse
stating one or more of my items are backordered.
I imagine this is the standard excuse email everyone gets since I ordered only one item.
Funny thing they drew the funds from my credit card account right away
    after the order.
Most reputable businesses will only draw funds once an item ships.
I’m thinking my next email to them will be stating I’ve contacted my credit card co for fraud!

After numerous phone calls and emails I finally did recieve a tracking number.
The item arrived shortly there after as described.
The price was unbeatable but the customer service is horrible.
Funny thing is that tool paradise is in California and the item shipped from a warehouse about 30 miles from my home in Virginia.
    Go figure.

  4. I had the same problem with tool paradise. I placed two orders on Jan 21 and got my confirmation for the orders. They took the money and acouple of days the excuses started. Things on backorder. Will be shipping tomorrow. Then sorry backorders didnt come in. So after a month I contacted paypal and put in a despute. After a week I got all my money back. Could not get anyone on phone. Had to email and wait for the next excuse. The price is very good but the service is horrible. How can a company run like that??

    All,
I am having the same bum experience. I placed an order on 3/21 for a gun; was informed it was being processed, 10 days later I called and was told that the item was on Back order. Which was ok because I wanted to upgrade to a better gun. That was changed and I got the same emails, ordered processed, etc.
Now, all over their web site they praise themselves for the fast delivery; That is a load of……
I have just emailed them again for progress; I will see.
This level of service is unacceptable. I would rather pay a little more for better more reliable service.. This is my one and only transaction with this company.
I have projects waiting in the wings for this gun and the wait is really starting to annoy me.
My suggestion is to other buyers: find a different source.
And yeah, a 4 hour PT window to talk to someone!?!?! Bull>>>

    Cheers
    Henry

  6. Wowie. Thank you guys (and gal) for saving me a headache I really do not need right now. I was about to order three spray guns from the Tool Paradise Spray gun world site, and I was thinking the 3 to five days they claim on their web site would be almost too long to wait… Sounds like what’s too good to be true is as usual, too good to be true. it’s pretty obvious from what I’ve read here that these guys have NO INVENTORY, and use your money as their capitol. Nice! I tried to call them about the order I wanted to place, and got a recorded message (it stated on their site to call them with order questions)
I’ll look elsewhere, call first, and if irt seems legit, pay a little more for the peace of mind… something I’ve always found to be of added value.

well i finally got my spray gun from spray gun word, every thing that was to come from aom astauro arrived. A filter and extra cup that was to come from sgw still has not shown up. I called sgw with no response so i called aom astauro and left a message that i was missing some items. the owner of aom astauro called me back the very next morning. he was very sympathetic that i did not receive these items and even though it was not his responsability he offered to send me a filter and a cup from his own stock to make up the difference. all he had to say is that it is not hi responsability but he made me that offer if i could not get any satisfaction from sgw. he certainly went above the call of duty for me and i thank him for that . so i just want to give him ( Tino ) a shout out and tell any one looking for great customer service and great spray equipment to check out aom astauro. buy the way i finally got ahold of sgw and they said they would ship my missing items right out sooooooooo we wil see thankws nick

My story is the same. I placed an order for two spray guns on April 21st. I received an order confirmation quickly and the cost was drawn against my card. I expected their advertised, “quick shipping.”
When the delivery time seem to be excessively long, I e-mailed several times without response. I then called a number of times only to be greeted with a recorded “after business hours” mail box although it was midday PDT. The only person that I was able to talk to was an answering service gal who offered to forward my problem to “the office.” To date, I’ve had no response from SGW.
I was about to file a dispute with PayPal when I stumbled on this site. I will wait a few more days, hoping that the Wells Fargo Wagon will be coming down my street before filing.
Perhaps they will qualify for a Government Bail Out for running a business so poorly.

Same story different day. There is probably 100’s maybe 1000’s with the same story.I did check them out on the BBB website. They gave them a B rating. If we all get together and file a complaint maybe we can stop this from happening to someone else or else this forum will be filled with the same story.Do your part as I will do mine.God bless.

I placed a order with these people 2 weeks ago and got a order being processed email from them the next day and that is all I can get from them and I cannot get in touch with them by phone either as it just comes back as mail box full or it is after hours which it is not. I will not bother these people again if I get my spray gun and I will bother them with the credit card people if it does not show soon.

Same bad story here. Ordered 2 guns in late March, after weeks of “not in stock” I canceled the order and SGW agreed to refund my money on April 21. Still waiting the refund and my e-mails are no longer replied to.

I filed a dispute with PayPal yesterday. So far, no response from SGW. I would suggest that, if you used PayPal, you log in on your account and start the process. If you didn’t use PayPal, check with your credit card company.
I don’t think that we will be seeing out equipment soon.

I ordered a master spray gun kit from them. They charged my card the next day. A month later no equipment. I canceled my order they said my refund would take a week to show up. A month later no refund yet. My bank is going after them. If they were the last company in the world to sell spray guns I would go back to using a brush. I plan contact as many forums, organizations, to get the word out. These people should be put out of business.

I also ordered a gun from them. I received an e-mail right away from Tools Paradise confirming my order. After a week and a couple of days, I clicked on the link in the e-mail and found that the Tools Paradise site is now closed because of the economy. So now what’s up?
